Mathew
D. Smith
Born
at world-renowned Loma Linda University Hospital, Mathew grew up
in San Diego. His frequent
visits to the San Diego Zoo as a child fostered a continuing amazement
at nature’s wonders. At age eight, his amazement peaked at the
birth of his sister. Less than a week later, he cautiously inquired
of his mother, “Can we send her back?”
A year after his sister’s birth, his family moved
to Illinois. While his hands never did warm back up after his first Midwestern
winter,
the beauty of the leaves changing color and snow-covered landscapes
were ample compensation. Before he started fifth grade his family moved
to
Anderson, Indiana. Currently, he commutes to classes
at Ball State University.
Mathew Smith will graduate from Ball State University with
a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry in 2005. His contributions to
this site are

on Frederick Landis, Deborah
Starks,
and Lee
Zacharias.
