Dr. Carolyn Ann Walker is an associate professor of Elementary Education at Ball State University. She earned her BA and MA degree in Elementary Education from Ball State and her PhD in Curriculum and instruction from Purdue University. A former first grade teacher, Carolyn has a focus in literacy instruction and is also very interested in creativity and informal learning environments. She has also worked with the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for several years as a consultant. Additionally, Carolyn is conducting research in the area of informal learning environments, teacher education, and children’s learning. She has presented this research at national research conferences including The American Educational Research Association and has a co-authored a manuscript in press for Fall, 2009.
