Six Years Old

By Daphne Silbiger

Adelaide is six years old and wants to be Han Solo. Her babysitter entertains the exploration into Adelaide’s identity, but other people do not. Adelaide has a little brother, Dewey, who gets to live freely whereas Adelaide is discouraged by her parents and teachers. Kim, the babysitter, treats Adelaide the way she wants to be (not like a girl) at the price of her job.
