Lorena
is currently a Ball State sophomore majoring in Aquatic Biology and
Fisheries as well as Genetics. She comes from the booming metropolis
of Greencastle, Indiana, where she grew up exploring the creeks and
woods near her house. In her spare time, Lorena enjoys cave exploring
and canoeing, and swimming when canoeing with Holly. She also relishes
traveling the little-known deer paths at Hemlock Cliffs. Her contributions
to this project are the website entries about Louis
Ludlow, Julia
L. Dumont, and James
B. Elmore. She and fellow fisheries major Cassie
Noble also conducted a plant survey of wetland plants in the Loblolly
Marsh at the Limberlost. Lorena’s favorite emergent wetland
plant is water smartweed.
