The Threat
of Flowers
Spring
Wind blows
a flower petal
from a blooming
tulip tree branch
into my breast pocket
—flakes of
mid-April
purple blossom
encourage
life
—springtime
tendencies take root—
Is it the stream
of green—
or development?
—Muzzles turn to bustles—
I forget
every year.
