The play shows Beverly reading Calvin’s diary entries while these entries play out onstage. Calvin is a young, gay, dancer who is preparing to audition for Julliard. They present key events of Calvin’s life in the previous few weeks leading up to Calvin’s death due to heart failure. These include moments with his close friends, arguments with his family, and his feelings about them. The play ends with his family and friends meeting in his bedroom to remember the deceased boy.
