This ten-minute play follows the conversation between two teenagers, Gavin and Drew, in Drew’s bedroom. Drew is Gavin’s best friend who doesn’t understand the pressures of homonormativity that Gavin is feeling from the other gay students at school. Using Drew’s past knowledge of his uncle who was gay, and being a great accepting ally, Drew creates an environment to make Gavin confident that he’ll be accepted no matter how he acts. Gavin realizes he is perfectly himself, and that there is no “right” way to be queer.
