For Unto Us

Stephen Kaplan

Two five year olds, Mary with one mom and one dad in a Christian household, and Joseph with two dads in a Jewish household. In this heartwarming ten-minute play the two children host a conversation of comments their parents have repeated, such as, “Only girls can play with dolls” and, “Why do you have two dads?” The two children tell stories of their religious backgrounds creating a view for the audience that maybe people from different backgrounds aren’t so different after all.
