Title
Dashboard
Description
Here is the dashboard screen, which the user sees after logging in. Each block in the dashboard represents an instance of an AWS service, and within each block is information for that instance. The lines on the dashboard represent connections between instances. For example, lines appear among an ECS cluster, and that cluster's respective tasks and services, which are other AWS instances.
On the left pane is an object explorer, where clicking an AWS Item will highlight it in the dashboard.
From this screen the user can also zoom in, zoom out, click and drag items around, resize items, logout, go to Settings, as well as minimize, maximize, and close the window.
One may notice that our items have names like, "Faux Instance" or "Mock Bucket". Since running tests and making many API calls was starting to incur charges from AWS, we switched to developing and testing with mock AWS items. The application does work with a real AWS environment, but we are not developing in one.
