Over six semesters the Town On Fire exhibits have profiled more than thirty women from across all walks of life. More than 120 students have participated in these projects. For some students, these projects have reminded them why they wanted to be historians or teachers of History. The excitement of a discovery is a wonderful thing! Often student-historians express surprise that we can know so much about the past, and that they became so invested in telling their person's story. Historians become invested, even as they seek to let the past speak for itself.

We are proud to be part of the larger Notable Women of Muncie and Delaware County Project. In 2023 the Indiana Historical Society awarded it the Outstanding Collaborative Project Award. Working alongside the Delaware County Historical Society, Muncie Public Library, Minnetrista Museums and Gardens, and Ball State University Libraries has been a joy and challenge. To make these institutions proud, we hope that we have brought our best work possible. Thank you for this opportunity and for your continued support.
