Inter-Professional Education is important for the following reasons:

  • Improve the quality of patient care
  • Improve patient and provider experience
  • Lower healthcare costs
  • Decrease patients' length of stay
  • Reduce medical errors

The goal of IPE is for individuals to learn the scope of practice of the professionals involved in the patient care. The collaboration between professionals will allow for good commmunication between one another and with the patient, along with a more efficient plan for intervention.
