The Execution

The grant will fund a series of industry consultants to show the students how their selections of materials are properly applied. Consultants include: framing and drywall, paint, carpet, tile, wall covering, tile, and specialty fixtures and plumbing.

The grant will challenge freshman to step out of their comfort zone as they use hands-on techniques to apply materials in the space. The grant will fund a basic toolbox for each student (hammer, screwdriver, tape measure, gloves, etc). It will also provide surface prep materials, paint and base, carpet tiles, tile mortar, tile, and grout, plumbing fixtures, and hardware for cabinets.  These supplies will allow students to see their designs come to life in real time.
