The Peace, Love, and Dance Project
Founded in Summer 2020 by choreographer and dance artist Indya Childs and based in Atlanta, GA, the Peace, Love, and Dance Project (PLD Project) was established in response to the devastating events unfolding in the United States. “The PLD Project launched a nationwide social media call of action to dancers” to encourage healing and “to spread unity through movement” in response to the murders of Black Americans, police brutality, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the abrupt unemployment of performing artists due to the pandemic, among other things.
