Community of Individuals

The word community is often associated with assimilation, uniformity, and conformity. For some, a functioning community can only exist if every member falls in line and takes care not to challenge the status quo. In Peace, Love, and Dance, community takes on a more progressive meaning: a community of individuals. Peace, Love, and Dance creates a world that celebrates individuals for their differences. In this world, a sense of unity results from a mutual respect for individuality. As this respect grows, the community bond is strengthened. In the world of Peace, Love, and Dance, great care is taken to discern how this newly defined community can be authentically represented. If we are to be a community that celebrates individuality, then all identities must be welcome and present in the conversation.
