Student Symposium 2021

Survey

Originally, survey collection was to be done in person at the 2020 Indiana State Shoot with researchers using iPads to collect respones. As previously mentioned, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Indiana State Shoot was canceled and the method of survey collection had to be changed. A survey made up of 20 items was created and went through several verisions, with most changes being due to wording of survey questions and possible respones. Once IRB approval was obtained in fall of 2020, the survey was placed on the Ball State University Qualtrics survey system and distribution began. The survey was distributed through both emails and social media such as Facebook, emails and social media posts were repeated several times. Survey collection was stopped in February of 2021. Some of the items on the survey included: What age range do you fall in? What kinds of guns do you shoot? (Select all kinds that you shoot) Would you wear hearing protection when shooting if not told to do so? and What type of hearing protection do you use when you shoot? (Check all that you wear). The rest of the items on the survey can be found in the document attached below.
