These vignettes were used to randomly assign participants to either Condition 1 or 2. Condition 1 was a high status perpetrator manipulation, while Condition 2 was a low status perpetrator. They are original to this project.

MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status (Adler, 2000)

The MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status (SSS) (Adler, 2000) was the primary measure for this survey. It was slightly modified to ask about the perpetrator's status rather than the participant's; the original that asked about the participant's social status was used in the demographic section.
