Future Work

We are aware of the interesting biological potentials of our small molecule inhibitor - ipomoeassin F but more chemical probes are needed to investigate sec61a translocon and other cellular targets further. Because understanding how ipomoeassin F and its analogues work on cellular target(s) would facilitate this research into novel drug discovery.

In the following months we hope to:

• complete our synthetic journey to our target molecule (analogue 1)
• test for biological usefulness of the new molecule (analogue 1)
• use the collected biological data to design and make more future molecules
