Spatial distribution of soil pH
One of the main factors affecting nutrients and chemical substances in the soil is soil pH. pH factor is used as a prediction of soil pollution. Lead, as other many heavy metals, become more water-soluble under acid conditions and can move with water through the soil, and in some cases move to aquifers, surface streams, or lakes. In contaminated areas with low soil pH, lead adheres less tightly and becomes more soluble in the soil.
